Eye Sea:
A certain percentage of water
As we all know, an image tell’s us a story and a picture is worth a thousand words.
In photography involving water, shooting an image from the water itself
especially from the water level, enhances the feeling of what it is like to actually be out there.
Water, subjects and objects in the water or on the waterfront,
water management and structures and or situations that relate to the.latter.
Yachts, every type of vessel big or small, real estate and of course nature.
The options are unlimited, there are possibilities in abundance.
Wether it be the mentioned above, water-sports or even kid’s jumping of a jetty,
involving the actual liquid itself undoubtably ad’s to the value of the image.
And, let’s also not forget the water itself.
The beautiful, continuously changing shapes and texture that come with the often moving water.
Ruben Snitslaar:
Feel what it is like to be out there
Growing up on a canal in the old city center of Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands,
country of water and water management,
Ruben was confronted with the different aspects of living close to and with the water.
Learning to love, ‘read’ and understand water in all it’s beauty.
Evolving as a photographer from working as a location scout in highly professional commercial photography and film
and with an absolute passion for wave-surfing and thus the ocean, spending much time in The Dutch North Sea,
it was a logical choice that came natural, to focus on a certain type of water-photography.
Creating the water’s perspective and in doing so showing subjects in a special way,
from a different angle and involving the viewer and making them participate.
